Cendrillon, Drôle d'Oiseau

The story here focuses on a young girl who fights to exist in a world that relegates her to the chimney because she is different. The prince becomes the symbol of a noble heart that tries to understand and tame difference, and the fairy that of the power we all have to become what we want to be. In this new musical by Arnaud Guillou, each of the artists will take part in the telling of the tale: the sisters will be a double bassist and flautist, the prince a pianist, the fairy and mother dancers, the stepmother will be a clown, and Cendrillon will be a coloratura soprano opera singer. The chosen repertoire aims to foster a love for operatic art, but also to vary the styles, from Rachmaninov to Camille, via Mozart, Massenet and… Daniel Balavoine! Arnaud Guillou.
