#FestivalJazzSurSeine2026 TRIO AGULHON / BEUF / IMBERT – Tribute to Sonny Rollins

It's hard to talk about Sonny Rollins without thinking of the legendary piano-less trio format, which the tenor saxophone master made one of his favourite playgrounds.

It is in this tradition that the trio of Sylvain Beuf, Diego Imbert, and Franck Agulhon, formed in 1998, is rooted.

Three albums, a complicity forged over the years, then more than twenty years of different artistic paths… A key figure in French jazz, Sylvain Beuf has made his mark through the richness of his playing, his lyricism, and the quality of his compositions.

Winner of the Prix Django Reinhardt, a Django d'Or, and a Victoire de la Musique, he has shared the stage with Martial Solal, Michel Legrand, Richard Galliano, Ray Charles, and many others.

Alongside him, Diego Imbert, one of the most in-demand double bassists of his generation, and Franck Agulhon, a drummer with subtle swing and remarkable listening skills, form a rhythm section of rare elegance.

With this concert, the three companions pay tribute to one of the greatest improvisers in jazz history.

More than just a tribute, it is a celebration of the spirit of freedom, the taste for risk, and the dialogue that made Sonny Rollins a legend, brought to life by three musicians who know each other by heart.
