The Brand New Quintet makes its grand return with a resolutely… brand new repertoire! At the crossroads of jazz and Creole music, the group offers an evening in the colours of the Caribbean, vibrant with rhythms, traditions, and living heritage. Led by a top-flight line-up, pianist Julien Coriatt is joined by Amina Mezaache, a key figure in world music and jazz in France, who develops a unique language between tradition and modernity; Sonny Troupé, master of the ka drum, grounds his playing in the Guadeloupean heritage while projecting it towards contemporary forms; Stefano Lucchini, renowned Italian drummer, brings a finesse and energy nurtured by major European stages; Damian Nueva, double bassist with a deep and subtle groove, elegantly anchors the ensemble; while Julien Coriatt unifies these universes with sensitive and audacious writing.
