Funny, musical and interactive, the incredible story of an applause conductor.
1895 in a Parisian theatre. Auguste Levasseur, head of the claque, directs a troupe of accomplices who, mingled with the audience, are tasked with applauding at opportune moments. An applauded play is a successful play, but two hours before a major premiere, Auguste is abandoned by his claque. He then entrusts Fauvette, an orchestra musician, and Dugommier, the theatre manager, with finding replacements to save the evening's performance. There is only an hour and a half left before the premiere to rehearse the novice claqueurs by having them interpret excerpts from the show, which features no less than five acts, forty musicians, and thirty set changes! The task is arduous, there are only three of them, and tonight, their career hangs by a claque!
After Le Siffleur and its 700 performances, Fred Radix returns with a new show that tackles a subject and a character who have marked the history of theatre, treating them with humour, musicality, and historical anachronism.
