Overview

La Rue Ketanou, the nomadic and poetic collective, makes a stop at L'Olympia. Expect an evening where French chanson meets the energy of rock and the freedom of folk.

La Rue Ketanou is, above all, a story of encounters and friendship, born in the late 90s in the streets of the Paris region. Florent Vintrigner (vocals, accordion, guitar, harmonica), Olivier Leite (vocals, guitar, bass), and Mourad Musset (vocals, guitar, bouzouki, harmonica) form the core of this unclassifiable group. Joined by Pierre Luquet on drums and vocals, they have managed to create a universe all their own, skilfully blending genres and influences. Their beginnings in public squares and café-concerts forged their reputation as generous musicians close to their audience, an energy they have successfully brought to the stage over the years.

Their music, often described as “alternative French chanson,” draws from folk, rock, reggae, and even hip-hop, all tinged with urban poetry and a discreet but constant social commitment. Tracks like “La Rue Ketanou,” “Les Mots,” and “P'tit Déj'” have become anthems for an entire generation, carried by lyrics that speak of freedom, travel, doubts, and hope. Their albums, from “En attendant les caravanes” to their more recent productions, show a constant evolution while remaining faithful to their sonic identity, characterised by intertwined voices, catchy melodies, and enriched acoustic instrumentation.

On stage, La Rue Ketanou is renowned for its contagious energy and interaction with the audience. Their concerts are true moments of sharing, where humour and emotion coexist. The band does not hesitate to improvise and engage with the audience, creating a unique atmosphere that is both festive and intimate. Each performance is a singular experience, where one finds the spirit of the band's beginnings, that of street musicians sharing their passion without artifice.

This appearance at L'Olympia, the legendary venue on Boulevard des Capucines, represents a significant step for La Rue Ketanou. It is an opportunity for the band to present its repertoire in a prestigious setting, while retaining the authenticity and warmth that are their trademark.
