Le Birgit Kabarett #7 • Spectacle du Birgit Ensemble

On the eve of the 2027 presidential election, Le Birgit Ensemble presents an evolving theatrical and musical show, halfway between Bertolt Brecht and "Les Guignols de l’info". The company draws on electoral news to transform it into a joyful and irreverent political cabaret. A salutary remedy just days before the first round.

The company invents a free and resolutely vibrant form, written according to current events. Carried by four actresses and singers, two mistresses of ceremony, and two musicians, this seventh opus is part of the tradition of "documented" theatre, where reality is observed and transformed to be better staged. Skits, songs, and games with the audience follow one another. From fiery meetings to the hushed corridors of power, the performers humorously and incisively portray the entire political theatre: figures, tics, postures, contradictions, and squabbles are revealed with acuity. Le Birgit Ensemble thus sketches a sensitive and subjective portrait of our era, between burlesque and satire. Laughter becomes a shared space to face reality – a clever blend of provocation, lucidity, and fantasy in service of a delightful session of collective catharsis. Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome!
