Tribute to a circus artist: Olga Brown, known as Miss Lala

Edgar Degas painted a picture titled Miss Lala at the Cirque Fernando in 1879. It depicts an aerial artist suspended by her jaw from the heights of the permanent circus's metal structure. Cirque Fernando was, at the time, a major venue for Parisian circus. Who was Miss Lala? Cie Le Fil de soie has embarked on a documentary circus project that will highlight the work of female circus artists. In this stage of their work, they wish to share an excerpt from the small-scale puppet show currently being created, a musical interlude featuring a barrel organ, and a presentation about Olga Brown, known as Miss Lala.

This event is programmed as part of the 11th edition of the "Femmes ordinaires extraordinaires" (Ordinary Extraordinary Women) festival, which will take place from 12 to 20 September 2026.
