Totó la Momposina - A family celebration "La Estrella es La Música"

A legend of Colombian music, a fervent ambassador of the sung and danced traditions from her country's Caribbean coast, Totó La Momposina joined the stars last May. From the 80s, Paris was a cherished city for her, where she lived, recorded her first album, and launched her prestigious career. Today, Paris pays tribute to her in Aubervilliers by inviting her musicians, friends, family, and other heirs to play, sing, and dance to embody her memory. Totó's former partners, Jorge Aguilar and his group Los Embelecos, and singer Tato Marenco, naturally answer this moving call, as do the Afro-Colombian virtuosos of The Almighty Groove, associated with Senegalese guitarist Tapha Gaye. And everyone will cast a tender gaze upon Eurídice, Totó's daughter, behind her microphone, and upon her grandchildren. More than ever, Totó La Momposina's key philosophical phrase: La Estrella es La Música (The star is music) will be proven true.

The evening will be splendid because, in addition, the Rumbabierta collective, augmented by the incredible Cuban singer-percussionist El Elegante, will inoculate the irresistible magic of Cuban rumba. A swirling and caliente evening! With outstanding musicians and masters of the genre, each Rumbabierta concert is an event of celebration, sharing, and joy. Make way for drums, singing, and dancing to a repertoire ranging from compositions for an authentic, groovy, and colourful Cuban rumba.
