Arrested Development, emblematic figures of conscious rap from the 90s, are returning to Paris for several dates. The American group is set to ignite the stage at Cabaret Sauvage with their communicative energy and hopeful messages.

Formed in Atlanta in 1988, Arrested Development quickly made an impression with their unique approach to hip-hop. Far from the gangsta rap clichés of the time, the collective, led by Speech and Headliner (formerly Baba Oje), chose to convey positive messages of spirituality, African-American pride, and social critique. Their debut album, « 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of...  », released in 1992, was a resounding success, propelled by tracks such as « Tennessee  », « People Everyday  », and « Mr. Wendal  ». This opus earned them two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, a first for a rap group.

Arrested Development's musical style is distinguished by the integration of soul, funk, blues, and African rhythms, creating an organic and warm sound. Their rich instrumentals, often embellished with female choirs and live instruments, contrast with the more synthetic productions of their contemporaries.
