For 10 years, Cachemire has been shaking up the French rock scene. For 10 years, Cachemire has been rattling our bones with corrosive guitars, slamming drums, and caustic lyrics. Suffit Juste d’Une Seconde is no exception. On this new album, aficionados will delight in rediscovering the “Cachemirian fibre” woven since Photochope-Moi, which electrifies the hair and coats the skin with a film of sweat from head-banging and heel-tapping to the beat. But time has the virtue of allowing for patina. Cachemire’s coat has, over a decade, become a leather that has refined itself from track to track. Always tinged with that characteristic peppercorn stuck in the trachea, it breaks free from the musical coating in a “Adam” or a “Seul” to speak to us face-to-face and tell us: “Listen carefully. It's important.”
There is hope in the lyrics. We live better in “2080” than in 2020. There is nostalgi
