Darkness Picnic • Spectacle de DOM-

DOM- freely draws inspiration from Peter Weir's "Picnic at Hanging Rock" (1975), adapted from Joan Lindsay's eponymous novel. From this unsettling fiction tinged with dreaminess — the enigmatic disappearance of young bourgeois girls in colonial Australia in the 1900s — the Italian company questions our present, marked by a strong return of conservatism: control of bodies, corseting of desires, persistence of colonial legacies.

The picnic then becomes a place of transition where other possibilities are invented: a way of extracting oneself from imposed frameworks, of following other lines of desire and of imagining, together, other ways of being in the world.

DOM- transforms this familiar ritual into a truly shared experience, both sensitive and political. Conceived as a poetic bivouac, this performance invites us to slow down and inhabit the world differently.

In an enchanting atmosphere, benchmarks gradually fade: listening, sensations and imaginaries take precedence over certainties, allowing desires, tensions and troubling narratives to surface.

Echoing her research on environmental humanities and queer ecology, DOM- envisions the group as an unstable ecosystem, traversed by relationships and transformations.

Without ever breaking with the troubling delicacy of its setup, the piece blurs the boundaries between spectators and performers, between reality and fiction.
