Overview
On a lovingly chosen repertoire, three talented young pianists from the Alexandre Tharaud Foundation join the French musician and Vanessa Wagner for a joyful celebration of the instrument.
In memory of his difficult early years as a musician, marked by a shortage of concerts and outside support, Alexandre Tharaud wished to establish his foundation. As he points out, "being a soloist requires everything: body, mind, and solid support. " His goal?
To support young musicians, both artistically and humanely, through concrete assistance. Three highly talented artists from his foundation join two seasoned soloists, Vanessa Wagner and Alexandre Tharaud himself, for a grand piano celebration.
The creation of Oscar Strasnoy's Twenty-Four Preludes – which walks in the footsteps of Chopin and Scriabin – mingles with famous or rediscoverable pages by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Rossini and Saint-Saëns.
Cast Alexandre Tharaud, piano Vanessa Wagner, piano Hyunji Kim, piano Nadja Dornik, piano Théotime Gillot, piano musicians from the Alexandre Tharaud Foundation
