Overview
Dark humour and burlesque for this play with explosive characters!
With Les Automnales, the Conservatoire Hector Berlioz inaugurates a new cultural event that will punctuate the beginning of each season, from September to November. True to its vocation, the conservatoire affirms its role as a place of life, creation, and artistic dissemination, open to everyone. Because culture is meant to be shared, all events are offered free of charge, subject to availability.
Tonight at the theatre! The Mask and Music workshop of the Conservatoire Hector Berlioz invites you to a tragic and fantastic farce where two families, seeking to escape bad news to preserve a joyful event, reveal their most ferocious selfishness. Through a succession of increasingly burlesque situations, Levin paints a cruel portrait of a society ready to step over corpses to achieve an ultimately trivial goal.
Funérailles d'hiver is the story of a great fantastic and burlesque escape triggered by the unfortunate concomitance of two major events. On one side, cousin Shratzia marries her only daughter Vélvétsia to Popotshenko. On the other, cousin Latshek Bobitshek mourns the death of his mother who, before she left him, made him promise a beautiful funeral, in the presence of the whole family. So he sets off at night, in pouring rain, to announce the terrible news to Shratzia. The family then decides to take to their heels to avoid the announcement of the inconvenient news. And the escape begins, a total and absolute flight, dragging Latsheck on an absurd journey through places as varied as they are delirious.
