Holy Wave

Seventeen years ago, at the start of their career, Holy Wave ventured into a peaceful psychedelic universe, eschewing long improvisations and guitar virtuosity in favour of a dreamy, decidedly pop-oriented approach. Over the years, their early sound — somewhere between Sgt.

Pepper’s and The Velvet Underground — gave way to more sophisticated melodies and increasingly hallucinatory instrumentation, evolving their music from sun-drenched nostalgia to a dimension of vibrant colours, where sounds of the past, present, and future naturally intertwine.

Childhood friends Ryan Fuson, Joey Cook, Kyle Hager, and Julian Ruiz grew up in El Paso, where they cut their teeth in the local DIY scene.

In search of new musical experiences and broader horizons, they regularly travelled the roads of the American Southwest to attend concerts by touring bands that often bypassed West Texas.

This love of travel eventually led them to settle in Austin, all while nurturing their adventurous songwriting and passion for live performance. Holy Wave will release their sixth album, titled i’m DADA, on 10 July 2026, via Suicide Squeeze Records.
