The Brand New Quintet makes its grand return with a resolutely… brand new repertoire?! Led by a top-tier line-up, pianist Julien Coriatt is joined by Amina Mezaache, a key figure in world music and jazz in France, who develops a unique language between tradition and modernity; Sonny Troupé, master of the ka drum, grounds his playing in Guadeloupean heritage while projecting it towards contemporary forms; Stefano Lucchini, renowned Italian drummer, brings a finesse and energy honed on major European stages; Damian Nueva, a double bassist with a deep and subtle groove, elegantly anchors the ensemble; while Julien Coriatt unifies these universes with sensitive and audacious writing.
