Overview
KMFDM
took a brief hiatus in early 1999 after recording their 10th album for Wax Trax Records, which had encountered difficulties with TVT Records. After releasing studio albums and touring frequently throughout the 2000s, Konietzko and Cifarelli returned to Germany in 2008. Critics consider KMFDM to be one of the first bands to popularise industrial music with the mainstream, although Konietzko refers to their music as “The Ultra-Heavy Beat.” The band incorporates heavy metal guitar riffs, electronic music, and male and female vocals, encompassing a variety of styles, including industrial rock, electronic body music, and even reggae and dub. The band is fiercely committed, with many of their lyrics opposing violence, war, and oppression
