MT JONES, a new talent from Liverpool, draws inspiration from the great names of 60s and 70s soul, as well as contemporary R&B and jazz, to create a sound that is both current and timeless.
His deeply soulful and immediately recognisable voice transports you to the hushed atmosphere of a smoky speakeasy, while also bringing a breath of fresh air and innovation.
After periods spent regularly working on the Liverpool and London music scenes, Jones has travelled the world as a musician and written songs for other artists, building a reputation as both a talented and prolific songwriter.
His first tracks (I Won't Ever Say Goodbye and Feeling Lonely) affirmed his position as a promising new British artist.
From his debut, he received strong and immediate support from BBC Introducing, with numerous airplays across the network and a spotlight as a Step Up artist on 1Xtra. He then released a limited edition 7-inch vinyl: this first physical pressing sold out in a few weeks. "
