Overview

This evening will appeal to fans of… Pavement, Dinosaur JR & Car Seat Headrest.

MY SON THE DOCTOR (10:00 PM) (Slacker rock - New York, US) Halfway between 90s slacker rock and the catchy pop-punk of the 2000s, *Glamours*, the debut album from Brooklyn quartet My Son The Doctor, perfectly embodies the often wild, sometimes irreverent, and always catchy sound of a band at the forefront of the indie rock scene across the five boroughs.

si=cUCbNcB7ppmBSVfq DALTON (9:00 PM) (Garage pop - LVP Records - Paris, FR) DALTON is a Parisian post-punk band.

Their music is marked by the arty punk rock of the 70s and the beginning of new wave (Jonathan Richman, B 52’s, Television, The Fall, Gang of Four), and by some essential great French singers (Daniel Darc, Dashiell Hedayat, Les Olivensteins).

They sing in a spoken-sung style, with bizarre lyrics full of mischief. They have released several records, notably their latest LP, « Soleil Orange  » (LVP Records), which received excellent critical acclaim.

For several years, they have been touring North-East Paris, sometimes throughout France, giving feverish concerts that reconcile old rockers and modern youth.

si=DJEss9YjEnPk42Yc CAFÉ BIZARRE (8:00 PM) (Indie pop - Paris, FR) CAFÉ BIZARRE does not deny its influences: those of the 80s and 90s in New York. One thinks of Television and The Modern Lovers (yes, they are from Boston…), but also Pavement (from Stockton, California).

So, we are definitely in lo-fi rock, elegant and refined, that does not try to hide its always raw emotions. And even when the guitars saturate the space, it is always with a certain nonchalance to better let a delicate and restrained vocal line flow.

Ultimately, their indie pop is best listened to with a touch of nostalgic ear.
