BEN L'ONCLE SOUL
This is the story of a guy from Tours, crazy about music, who in 2010 enchanted all of France with his vintage soul. A voice, a vibe, an intoxicating freshness. On the radio, on screen, on stage almost everywhere, Ben the soulman preaches the good word and carves his path along a fruitful decade: a live show at the Zénith de Paris, an album with the Californians Monophonics, a personal reinterpretation of Sinatra, up to “Addicted To You” which in 2020 revealed a new Ben, now a father and determined to take control of all aspects of his artistic production. Thus was born Enchanté, his label, his home, which, by welcoming a small, close-knit team, would change everything. Far from the marketing constraints of major labels, Ben resets the cursors where he wants them: priority to the love of sound, as in the beginning, and the intoxication of creativity nourished by contact with other shapers of vibrations. Then came “Red Mango” (2022), a radiant Jamaican escapade, followed by “Is It You?” (2023), a spiritual gem forged in a live spirit with his faithful stage companions. After a major international tour of over 150 dates, and also the publication on his label of Linda Lee Hopkins’ aptly named “Spirit & Soul”, it’s time to reshuffle the cards, to combine the art of beatmaking with his thirst to sing freely in response to the propulsion of a drum kit. By building “Sad Generation” with a golden duo of producer-multi-instrumentalists, Ben engraves a new audacious, thrilling chapter endowed with solid coherence, that of a young man in his early forties ready to cross the doors that his artistic maturity opens before him.
