The work is inspired by paintings, poems, nature, and Mahler's personal history. The reduced ensemble allows for a new proximity to the work, revealing the subtlety of timbres and the expressive intensity that characterise Mahler's writing.
A light show accompanies the performance, emphasising the atmospheres, transitions, and grand dynamics of the symphony.
This artistic approach aims to offer the audience a renewed experience of the work, combining musical rigour, legibility of textures, and a sensitive enhancement of Mahler's universe.
We want the audience to be immersed in Gustav Mahler's creative process, to discover the conditions under which the work was conceived.
To understand the energy, states of mind, and passions that Gustav Mahler allowed himself to be traversed by for the composer to conceive this 1st symphony, known as "Titan".
