Overview
Peet is one of the leading figures of the new Belgian scene, and is gradually conquering France! Lyricist, singer, and beatmaker, he made a name for himself within the group Le 77 before embarking on a solo career. His writing is singular, poetic, sensitive, and authentic.
He draws inspiration from personal stories with which an entire generation can identify, from urban misfortunes and life experiences.
Project after project, he remains within the realm of urban music, but he has nevertheless refined a style nourished by very diverse influences and found his balance.
With his upcoming album Joyboy (27 February 2026), he returns to his love of instruments, delivering an even more personal, organic album, carried by an increasingly asserted musical sensibility.
It features round, jazzy sounds, imbued with soul and funk, but also a more pop and luminous aesthetic than before, which is also thanks to the talented musicians who have accompanied him for years.
At 32, with ten years dedicated to rap, Peet confides: "I have evolved in my writing and learned to better use my voice. " The album title comes from One Piece. "I'm a big fan of this manga. He's a character who comes to bring order to this world that isn't doing well.
I wouldn't describe myself exactly like that. But he's someone who has been through a lot of trials. " Literally "joyful boy", Joyboy here becomes a metaphor: finding inner peace, keeping hope despite doubts, becoming an adult. In total sincerity, with eyes turned towards the sky.
Through these new tracks, Peet questions his doubts, explores his connections with loved ones, invites us on a journey, addresses the challenges of his artist life, and speaks of resilience. In total sincerity, with eyes turned towards the sky.
