On the occasion of the release of their seventh album The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers (Nonesuch records, released July 24, 2026), Punch Brothers, the band formed in 2006 by mandolinist Chris Thile and currently featuring guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjo player Noam Pikelny, and violinist Brittany Haas, returns to the stage for the Unsung European Expedition tour.
Punch Brothers has been critically acclaimed, notably winning a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album for All Ashore (2018).
” The Financial Times noted that “the fluid way the five musicians move from one musical style to another shows how far they have outgrown the ‘progressive bluegrass’ label,” thus confirming their reputation as pioneers of contemporary acoustic music.
Their last album, Hell on Church Street (2021), is a reinterpretation and tribute to the iconic solo album by the late Tony Rice, Church Street Blues.
The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers, the band's seventh album – their first entirely instrumental and the first with violinist Brittany Haas, who joined the quintet in 2023 – includes eight new original compositions by Punch Brothers as well as three traditional songs they have arranged.
