The Saian Supa Crew, formed in the late 90s, made its mark on the history of French hip-hop with its originality and creativity. Initially composed of six MCs – Sly the Mic Buddah (Sly Johnson), Vicelow, Specta, Leeroy Kesiah, Féniksi, and Sir Samuël – the group was born from the fusion of three distinct collectives (Explicit Samouraï, OFX, and KDD). This diversity of origins forged a unique style, characterised by technical flows, finely crafted lyrics, and innovative vocal polyphony, far from the rap clichés of the time. Their first album, « KLR  », released in 1999, was a real shock, propelling the group to the forefront with tracks like « Angela  » and « La Preuve par 3  ».

The Saian Supa Crew distinguished itself with an open-minded musical approach, integrating jazz, soul, funk, and reggae influences into a solid hip-hop foundation. Their often sophisticated productions and varied themes, ranging from social commitment to introspection, proved the richness of their universe. After the success of « KLR  », they continued to explore new sounds with « X Raisons  » (2001) and « Hold-Up  » (2005), consolidating their reputation as an innovative and audacious group. The premature death of Féniksi in 2007 marked a turning point, leading to the group's separation and the development of solo careers for its members.
