Overview
Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen currently make up Take That and continue the legacy of one of the most popular groups in British chart history, with over 45 million albums sold worldwide and 12 UK number 1 singles.
Formed in 1989 as a five-piece, the band immediately found success with their first two albums, which reached number 2 and number 1 on the UK charts respectively.
Their third album, Nobody Else, confirmed their international domination: it sold over six million copies and reached number 1 in 11 countries.
Robbie Williams' departure led to the band's split in 1996, followed by nine years away from the stage, before the four remaining members reunited for The Ultimate Tour in 2005.
This return marked one of the biggest comebacks in British music history, with Take That then releasing three number 1 albums in just four years.
Robbie Williams' return for Progress in 2011 allowed them to break several UK records, including the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the fastest-selling tour of all time.
Williams' subsequent departure, along with that of Jason Orange, ultimately left Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen to continue as a trio. They released III, then Wonderland in 2017, which were certified platinum and gold respectively.
2026 is set to be an exceptional year for the band, with the release in February of a Netflix documentary that became a number 1 hit, the conclusion of their massive stadium tour The Circus Live, which sold over 736,000 tickets, as well as the release of their 10th studio album planned for later in the year.
