To say that Thee Sinseers make “oldies” music would be to simplify what they offer. Led by Joey Quiñones, an East Los Angeles native and central figure of the group, Thee Sinseers have been crafting a sound since 2019 that draws from R&B and soul while breaking free from the genre's rigid codes. Alongside his musicians, Quiñones builds a singular aesthetic, nourished by a profoundly modern vision of timeless music. As their new album Love Stories approaches release on Colemine Records, one thing immediately stands out: this record doesn't tell a simple, neat love story. It's not interested in the happy ending, but in everything that precedes it, follows it, or eludes it. For this album, the band chose more organic instrumentation: double bass, guitars plugged into amps to recapture that typical 60s warmth… Inspirations emerge from everywhere, sometimes even from the most unexpected places. It is precisely this borderless approach that, according to Quiñones, best defines the record: « At no point did we feel like we were making soul. We just felt like we were making our music.  »

With Love Stories, Thee Sinseers sought to capture something more honest than a mere collection of beautiful moments.
