Grand Corps Malade

Fabien Marsaud, known as Grand Corps Malade, born July 31, 1977 in Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis), is a French slam poet, singer-songwriter, and director.

In 2006, he released his debut album, Midi 20, ranked 10th among the year's top 200 album sales. In 2008, he released his second album, Enfant de la ville, with deeper lyrics and more pronounced musical accompaniments.

In 2010, he released his third album, 3e Temps, marked by a somewhat different tone and more engaged lyrics. In 2013, he published his fourth studio album, Funambule, infused with a very familial touch and tenderness. In 2015, he released Il nous restera ça, a concept album in which he invites several artists from different generations to perform slam, including Renaud, Charles Aznavour, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, and Jeanne Cherhal. In 2018, his sixth album Plan B was released, and in 2020, his seventh, Mesdames, which became a diamond-certified album the following year. In 2022, he released the album Éphémère in collaboration with Gaël Faye and Ben Mazué. The following year, he released his eighth studio album, Reflets.

His stage name refers both to the serious accident that disabled him and to his great height. He explores this experience in his autobiographical novel Patients, published in 2012 and adapted for cinema in 2017 under the same title, co-directing his first film with Mehdi Idir. They then co-directed a second film, La Vie scolaire, in 2019, followed by a third, Monsieur Aznavour, in 2024.
