Simple Minds

Simple Minds is a British new wave and alternative rock band, originally from Glasgow (Scotland). Its international popularity peaked from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s and remains notable today, with nearly 60 million albums sold worldwide. The inseparable members, singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill, both founders, are still present. Former members include bassist Derek Forbes, drummer Brian McGee, and keyboardist Michael MacNeil.

The band is widely known for its participation in the soundtrack of the film The Breakfast Club with the song Don't You (Forget About Me) in 1985, which notably reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and became the band's biggest commercial success. Among their other major hits are Promised You a Miracle (1982), Glittering Prize (1982), Someone Somewhere in Summertime (1982), Waterfront (1983), Up On The Catwalk (1983), Alive and Kicking (1985), Ghostsdancing (1986), One Upon a Time (1986), Sanctify Yourself (1986), Mandela Day (1989), Belfast Child (1989), See the lights (1992), and Hypnotised (1995).
