After Désobéir and La Tendresse, Julie Berès continues her exploration of youth's capacity for reinvention, joy, and resistance with ÉPOPÉES. She met young artists from Afghanistan, Palestine, Russia, Israel, and Iran, who chose civil disobedience and fled their countries to seek asylum in France. The show explores their reconquest of fundamental freedoms – to sing, dance, read, write, love – and the paradoxes of exile. Julie Berès continues her on-stage quest for a powerfully performative theatre where intimacy and humour blend with the eminently political, aiming to arm audiences with hope.
