The heart of the programme is dedicated to the rare cycle by composer and pianist Marie Jaëll: eighteen pieces for piano divided between Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso, astonishingly modern for their time. Célia Oneto Bensaid, who has recorded the complete cycle, reveals its full visionary power. Around these pages, Franz Liszt remains a constant presence, from the Mephisto-Waltz No. 3 to Schubert's lieder transcribed for piano. A Dantesque journey, from Hell to Paradise – what better way to enter heaven?
