LES GAULOIS
At the edge of the undergrowth, two wild boars. They graze peacefully in a fantasised Gaul, then collapse into the ditch. Olivier and Thomas, two bearded and hairy Gauls, live by the river. They vaguely gather mistletoe. Vaguely await the Romans. They bathe as the Gauls bathed in ancient times. Sometimes, they scratch the earth. They have a Gallic banquet, sing Gallic songs, make Gallic gestures. Olivier and Thomas are on a weekend trip in a village in the South of France. They pass an abandoned building. On the building, an inscription in marker: “Les Gaulois”.
Olivier and Thomas, two moustachioed gendarmes, come to question Thomas and Olivier. Something must have happened in the building. Was it yesterday, or in the fifth century BC? In this unstable Gaul, nourished by academic culture, by pop culture, shaped by contemporary tropisms, something resurfaces. Traversed by very ancient, violent, uncertain memories, Olivier and Thomas try to grasp and shake the fragments, laugh, tremble, trance, battle, pass the Time
