Méli-mélo Oratoire Librement Inspiré d’Errances dans le Répertoire de l’Eponyme is a clever acronym for MOLIERE. And it is precisely with cleverness that this show traverses his life and work. We see how Jean-Baptiste Poquelin rejects his destiny as an upholsterer to become an actor. We encounter, among others, his father, Louis XIV, Lully, the young Jean Racine, his troupe companions, doctors… And to subjectively (though informed) retrace Jean-Baptiste’s journey, these figures draw words from the characters in Molière’s plays. Thus, the accounts of his life take on colourful reflections from the brilliance of scenes from his works. Three actors and a musician joyfully, ardently, mischievously, madly, and powerfully throw themselves into the life and work of the man who was undoubtedly the most joyful, most ardent, most cunning, most mad, and strongest of all stage people.
