For over a decade, Aurélie Charon, a producer at France Culture, has been travelling the world with a microphone in hand, meeting her contemporaries, forging loyal friendships and lasting connections. The question of reconstruction, in Syria, Gaza, and even Lebanon, is strongly present. Rayane, Amir, and Hala believe in the lives we don't yet have, but for which we fight. Through education, cinema, poetry. We went to Hermel in Lebanon, on the Syrian border, to meet Rayane in the secular school "Esprits libres" which she co-founded. Amir got stuck at the beginning of the war in Gaza in 2023, before returning to France and being able to evacuate part of his family. We went with him to meet the sisters of Hala, a Syrian filmmaker, and her mother, who left Syria after the massacres on the coast. How to think about reconstruction?
