"Once upon a time, but only once, or several times, or it's all the time, it repeats, all the time it repeats. " This is how Emmanuel Adely's Trois contes et quelques begins, a scathing re-writing of Perrault's Tales.

In his version, Peau d'Âne transforms into Peau d'Huile, Le Petit Chaperon rouge becomes Lou, a child threatened by eternal predators, Barbe Bleue is a serial lover flitting from yacht to palace.

Moving from one tale to another with mischievous pleasure, the two actors chain together disguises and nods to social media, while Perrault watches, impassive, in period costume. A tragi-comic and fiercely funny play.
