Overview

Born Bad Records celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Théâtre du Châtelet!

“I like radicality, people who are whole. Music professionals and virtuosos have always bored me. ” Jean-Baptiste Guillot. Jean-Baptiste Guillot uttered these words on the occasion of Born Bad Records' tenth anniversary. ).

The man who wore out his trousers on the benches of the majors and founded his label twenty years ago, in the aftermath of a redundancy plan that hit the record industry, is still standing!

Being twenty years old in rock'n'roll means going far beyond maturity: it's almost resisting! It means cultivating a state of mind, marked by loyalty to values (independence everywhere, compromise nowhere), as much as to artists, mostly French. Why?

To better support them over time, and to make them shine, unvarnished. Today, Born Bad Records is much more than rock, indie, pop, and underground. By the way, who still knows how to define what underground is?

It doesn't matter, no label sticks to the vinyls signed by Born Bad Records.

This label is fundamentally alternative: from the discovery of the band Cheveu (blues), to Frustration (post-punk), passing through Bryan's Magic Tears (shoegaze), La Femme (rock machine) or Arthur Satàn (garage-rock) and Zombie Zombie (krautrock), the list is long: more than 200 albums!

And Born Bad Records recently revealed the Star Feminine Band, an afropop group formed by seven women, born in Natitingou, Benin, at roughly the same time as the label.

So – have no doubt – to blow out its twenty candles in the Grande Salle of the Théâtre du Châtelet, Born Bad Records will set the stage on fire! With Frustration, Vox Low, Gwendoline, Bryan’s Magic Tears, Zombie Zombie, Forever Pavot, Bracco, Arthur Satan
