As part of the second edition of the Archipel#Chaos-Monde Biennale, CWB|Paris presents its autumn exhibition.

At the end of 2024, the Centre, also known as 'le vaisseau' (the vessel), launched its Archipel-Monde biennale with a Focus dedicated to overseas and pan-African territories.

These Encounters aimed, to use Dipesh Chakrabarty's expression, to “provincialise” the European gaze and bring together voices that challenge economies of thought and ignite epistemic disobedience.

In this second edition, what connects, what forms a language, will be the Mediterranean – considered as a potentially unifying element not by reduction to similarities but by valuing an ethics of the multiple, the diverse, and the irreducible.

In the shadow of certainties2, liquid zones, zones of flux, the Mediterranean offers the opportunity for a metaphorical narrative parabolising rethought alterities, crossings, circulations, migrations.

Archipel-Monde will also have an “island” in the form of an Anarkhè-Exposition6 named “Asile-Exodus & Fuga”, which will bring together works that explore the issues of human and non-human exiles, inviolability, exoduses, refuges, shelter, and also mutations – works that touch upon the highly polysemic notion of asylum.

Works that dismantle stato-national and imperialist visions and postures.
