With her sense of narrative and a delightful art of anachronism, Gaëlle Bourges stages the confrontation for the English crown between William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, and Harold Godwinson – a proto-streaming epic to devour with the family, without moderation!

On stage, two performers take hold of a heritage treasure: the Bayeux Tapestry. But here, there's no museum or display case – History comes to life with three pieces of cardboard and a good dose of imagination.

Enough to captivate young and old alike in this revisited, funny, and inventive medieval saga.

With mischievous humour, the dancers unroll the 70 metres of the famous embroidery like a series of episodes: hurried heroes, express battles, a playful narrator, and… an ABBA song to conclude it all – because after all, queens must be honoured as much as kings!

Reflecting this show, which combines text with images to make History and its representation accessible to children, without sugar-coating its dramatic torments or its outcome, Gaëlle Bourges' artistic "deconstruction" work continues its journey in contact with art history and its most eloquent forms, while injecting a welcome critical discourse.
