True to its desire to build bridges between aesthetics and encourage exchange, La Seine Musicale continues this season to offer original creations, at the crossroads of genres and artistic disciplines: music, dance, improvisation, poetry...

Since its opening, La Seine Musicale has intertwined a large-scale popular programme with a sharp artistic demand. With “Piano Inside”, a unique duo combining piano and visual creation offers an immersive experience that renews live performance and redefines the relationship between the musician, the instrument, and the stage space. For this first edition of “Piano Inside”, pianist Vanessa Wagner and visual artist Adrien Mondot, both keen on the bridges that bring people together, honour Philip Glass. Repetition, colour, timbre: the musical world of the American composer questions our relationship with time and space, and invites decompartmentalisation. If Glass's music is repetitive, it is not sterile. It develops like an organism that breathes, vibrates, lives. Atmospheric, hypnotic, and also nostalgic with its minor harmonies, it moves forward, sometimes swirling. This is also the case for the works of Moondog, Arvo Pärt, Erik Satie, and Brian Eno, which will also enhance the musical programme of this augmented recital. And Vanessa Wagner's nuanced playing, as well as her touch with infinitely varied textures, evoke and imprint visions on our inner retina. Adrien Mondot's visual creations offer a grammar of light and movement that embraces melodic lines without ever burying them under a spectacular layer, and offer the music a contemplative counterpoint that extends listening without commenting on it.
