“Giselle” addresses all the themes of Romanticism: local colour and pastoral love that ends in tragedy, the irruption of a fantastic world, and redemption through the power of love.
The title role of “Giselle” is one of the most difficult in the repertoire, demanding from the performer, in addition to impeccable technical mastery, qualities of dramatic expression ranging from joy of life to despair, then to madness and passion.
With choreography quite surprising for its time, it struck audiences with the solidity of its structure, both in the grand tableaux of the corps de ballet and in the solos.
This masterpiece of classical ballet is a treat for all dance admirers thanks to the performance of the artists from the Grand Ballet de Kiev. It is a show for the whole family, for young and old, a touching and wonderful symphony of dance.
