When Rubén Molina steps onto the stage, he captivates everyone. His dance burns without consuming, tells stories without words. Trained in dance in Spain, particularly flamenco, he has been a dancer and soloist in major companies, touring the world before settling in Paris where he continues his art in productions as a choreographer, always connected to his Andalusian roots. In La Salida (literally “the exit”), seven artists form a vibrant community, imbued with the spirit of flamenco but open to other languages: contemporary dance, the poetry of gesture, live music. The piece tells of exile, identity, and resilience. It moves like a shared heartbeat. Molina celebrates the invisible, the marginalised, those who are silenced, those to whom the artist wishes to give back their voice. His dance is not merely virtuosic; it is inhabited. It comes from memories and wounds.
