Overview
To close the season, Laurence Equilbey conducts Insula camerata: the orchestra academy that Insula orchestra founded in 2025 to pass on historically informed performance practice on period instruments to a new generation of young musicians – 32 instrumentalists of 12 nationalities, aged 18 to 30.
On their way to Paris, the ensemble follows in Mozart's footsteps. First stop in Mannheim, where the composer wrote his Flute Concerto No. 1: a virtuosic and refined piece, entrusted to Anna Besson, whose diaphanous timbre and sovereign line unfold all its grace.
Then comes the arrival in the capital. Mozart composed the Parisian Overture No. 2 and Symphony No. 31 "Paris" there, designed to captivate with its grandeur and brilliance.
Interventions by Ballet Preljocaj Junior accompany this journey, extending the orchestra's energy through movement.
An evening that celebrates both Mozart's genius and the future of historical interpretation – carried by a generation of musicians at the beginning of a great adventure.
