This is where it all begins: the great humanist of British dance performs his divine comedy.
Have you ever, asks Ben Duke, created something – a child, a garden, or a paper aeroplane – only to see it spiral out of control?
Assuming that even God must share this feeling – given the state of his creation – Ben Duke doesn't hesitate to embody him on stage, armed with his clever yet benevolent humour. But he also embodies Lucifer. He plays Adam. And Eve!
For all this, his source of inspiration is a major masterpiece of 17th-century English literature: John Milton's Paradise Lost, an epic poem of thousands of lines that offers a philosophical and humanist look at the expulsion from Paradise.
