Dive into the heart of the Middle Ages with ApotropaïK and their show Bestiaire. Dragons, mermaids, panthers, and ferrets come to life in a scenic and musical fresco blending the “Cantigas de Santa María” (13th century), whose narratives transport us back to the art of storytelling, excerpts from the Codex Las Huelgas, a major manuscript of medieval polyphony, as well as “caccie” (14th century), Italian pieces evoking the world of Dante and Petrarch. After a residency at Royaumont Abbey, the Centre des arts hosts this show at the beginning of its run, offering the public a poetic and enchanting spectacle, where the medieval imagination unfolds in all its richness, engaging both the eye and the ear.
