The life of Hokusai

The life, passion, and spirit of Hokusai. The Life of Hokusai tells the intimate story of the Japanese master Katsushika Hokusai in a non-verbal show combining traditional Japanese music, martial arts performances, and digital projections.

After a stroke and losing everything in a fire, Hokusai paints with indomitable energy. The sudden death of his wife Koto confronts him with the meaning of his life and art.

On stage, dragons and landscapes of Mount Fuji come to life, revealing a bold and passionate painter, for an immersive, poetic, and emotionally rich experience. First part: Maelstrom / Maël Péneau * Duration: 1h Artist in residence. of creation.

An electro musician, with his project Mid-0, he explores the Japanese origin of the mythical Roland drum machines that gave birth to techno, house, and hip-hop.

Born from a residency at Villa Kujoyama, the project takes shape at the CDA in Enghien-les-Bains through an immersive performance, a modular synthesizer, and a participatory workshop around this living technical history.
