A poetic and political coming-of-age fable about the power of stories, resistance, and the strength of imagination.
King Ivar keeps his people in fear: dragons roam and threaten the kingdom's safety. To protect themselves, the sovereign plunges the country into darkness and encloses it in a huge cage.
When Georges, the king's son, disappears, young Sabra embarks on a journey during which she discovers the power of images, shadows, and stories. Together, the two children learn to outwit the lies that imprison and to invent an art capable of freeing minds.
