Inspired by real events, Le Signalement puts an unusual high school to the test with harassment accusations. Rich and choral, the play is nourished by the contributions of the amateur performers it brings together in each city.

A few tables, some chairs and a blackboard – the setting is familiar, but the context less so: a self-managed high school where students and teachers make all decisions collaboratively.

This wonderful human and educational experiment is threatened by accusations of sexual harassment against a teacher.

Between false testimony and a real victim, the collective is torn over what action to take, at a time when the rectorate is threatening not to renew the agreement linking the institution to the National Education system.

As he did with La Crèche: mécanique d’un conflit, presented in 2025 at CENTQUATRE-PARIS where he is an artist in residence, François Hien draws inspiration from a real event while involving the performers in the writing process.

The teenagers and adults who participated in workshops held at CENTQUATRE beforehand infuse the narrative with their reflections and experiences.

With this show, questions of how speech circulates and is received are brought into play, as well as how two generations confront their political commitment and their utopias.
