Lucie Antunes, Mathilde Monnier - Silence

Born from the encounter between musician Lucie Antunes and choreographer Mathilde Monnier, Silence is a choreographed concert for nine performers. Music and dance engage in a dialogue around a shared obsession: rhythm, as a transformative force for the body and perception.

Shamanism has long permeated Lucie Antunes' work, serving as both an artistic and personal source of inspiration. With Silence, she draws on this influence to explore trance through rhythmic repetition: a pulse that settles in, transforms, and ultimately captures all attention.

In direct connection with the music, Mathilde Monnier plays on the rises and falls of rhythmic intensities to offer another experience of time, oscillating between excessive slowness and frenetic agitation.

Created this summer during the 80th edition of the Festival d'Avignon, Silence is a continuation of Lucie Antunes' work; she has been supported for several years by CENTQUATRE-PARIS, where she is an associate artist.

For ten years, the musician has staged shows in collaboration with choreographers and artists from various fields. This taste for interdisciplinary exchange is further affirmed with Silence, her third album, released on 12 June 2026.
