There are works that stand the test of time and retain their timeless power. La Chute des Anges is certainly one of them. Created almost ten years ago, Raphaëlle Boitel's visual fable continues to fascinate young and old alike with its dreamlike and captivating universe.

What would become of our world if even angels could no longer fly? By imagining this troubling future, the director illuminates our present. In an inhabited penumbra, an almost unreal light emerges, revealing suspended bodies engaged in an aerial choreography of great intensity.

Figures off balance, silhouettes seeking elevation, hairy coats hanging from the fly system, angels fallen from the sky: each one wavers, between fall and aspiration. The subtly tragicomic tone is part of a unique cinematographic aesthetic.
