What if thinking was child's play? And what if playing was as serious as can be?
Ida and Paul discover that they can think, and they are utterly astonished. They are two friends, naive and perhaps a little bit clownish too. They play with words, with thoughts, going from surprise to surprise, and it makes them joyful.
And when there are two of you, thoughts can be shared.
It allows you to move forward and also makes you free… It's not entirely by chance that the play's title echoes the famous text by the thinker Pascal; here, the aim is to embody, with all the seriousness and joy children are capable of, great philosophical questions.
Sylvain Maurice has devised a show for two actors and a musician with a simple setup, so it can be installed anywhere and made accessible to everyone.
Through the lively language of Nicolas Doutey, who signs his first text for young audiences here, theatre becomes a field of exploration in the present… Maïa Bouteillet
