Mermaids

To dive into Mermaids is to enter a utopian universe – aquatic, pop, and interconnected – where bodies transform and reinvent themselves. Choreographer and circus artist Justine Berthillot imagines figures of mermaids, half-women, half-fish, embodied by four dancer-acrobats and an opera singer.

An all-female cast, both on stage and behind the scenes of this neo-futuristic show. Fluid, mysterious, these hybrid presences evolve between the real and the virtual, blending dance, acrobatics, electronic music, and song. Drawing from myths and facing the upheavals of the world, the show invents a contemporary narrative where metamorphosis becomes a response to chaos, a way to bring forth other more desirable possibilities. At the heart of a digital scenography – an interactive and shifting landscape – Mermaids offers an immersive experience where everything recomposes before your eyes to invent new ways of being in the world. What if the future were aquatic and feminine?
