La Veilleuse

At night, when theatres have been deserted by the public and artists, the crews install a ghost light on stage.

A simple bare light bulb, mounted on a stand, it prepares, in the empty hall, to fight the spirits that are sure to appear: it is called, in English, the ghost light.

La Veilleuse, a holographic cabaret, pays tribute to this object of shadow and its stubborn glow, a symbol of optimism and creative energy.

In an artistic cavern, artists gather in their ghostly attire in a surreal suite, taking advantage of their – temporary – immateriality: Yael Naim, multiplied, takes flight, dancer Kaori Ito imprints the trace of her movements in space, the captivating singers of Birds on a wire vanish into smoke… How can one make a presence felt in the face of the immaterial?

Isn't it the very essence of magic to bring us into the presence of the invisible? « The impression of both strangeness and novelty, of the birth of a new form of spectacle. The first spectators of the cinematograph perhaps had the same sensation.
